Cover reveal!

Dragonhide-patterned cover for Year of the Dragon Lord. includes moonstone emblem with stylized dragon, surrounded by filigree.

I haven't seen the printed cover yet, but it will be very close to this--perhaps a bit darker. From the back of the book:

How would you feel if your parents were eaten by dragons?

Exactly! You'd want revenge.

I'm Gerald, a teenage orphan from a part of Scotland you've probably never heard of. The last seven years of my life have been consumed with the thought of watching the death throes of a dragon struck down by my hand. I have so much unfinished business to attend to when it comes to dragons. Little does this one know I've been planning for this glorious moment, and he's the first of many.

Now that he's right in front of me, I can see a few things clearly; I've really, really hacked him off. He's deranged. He's huge. And he's at least as smart as I am.

And this is the simple part of my life.

I have to brag on my designer, Allison Metcalfe. She has done a fantastic job of bringing my vision for this book to life. I sent her photos of a journal I wanted to base the book cover on. I expected that she would try to reproduce the journal. Instead, she ran with the general concept but came up with something new and even more wonderful. There were some constraints because of what we plan to do with the sequels; at one point I gave up on how those would look but Allison found a way to make it all work. My whole team rocks, but today I want to give a special shout out to Allison. Thank you so much!
